A round table meeting of the EuroCC project was held on June 17th. Due to the ongoing measures related to COVID 19, the meeting was on-line. Experts and developers from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the University of National and World Economy participated in the discussion. The main task of the meeting was to inform the parties on the result of the survey, which was held earlier and to discuss problems on the ways and approaches of introducing and using HPC/HPDA and AI among Bulgarian organizations.
Dr. Luben Boyanov opened the meeting and together with Dr. Dorina Kabakchieva presented the survey results, carried for Task 3.3: Technology Transfer and Business Development. The objectives of the survey were to identify and analyze innovative technologies created by scientific organizations or businesses in terms of HPC know-how in Bulgaria and facilitate the transfer of knowledge to companies, that will use HPC/HPDA and AI. After the presentation and the analysis of the results, the floor was given to Prof. Vladya Borisova, who presented the case of knowledge and technology transfer in HPC/HPDA/AI in terms of intellectual property rights. Prof. Aneta Karaivanova presented the success of using and applying HPC in joint research projects with the participation of industrial and academic partners.
The presentations were followed by a vivid discussion, in which active part took Prof. Emanuil Atanasov, Prof. Todor Gurov, Prof. Aneta Karaivanova, Prof. Kamelia Stefanova and others. The discussion was on the successful practices and what can be improved in future activities and collaboration between academia and industry.
