The “European Entrepreneurship Day 2023 (EED-2023)” took place in the hall of the Representation of the European Commission in Sofia on November 8th 2023. This is a traditional event for Sofia University and was held for the 21st time. The theme of EED-2023 was “Artificial intelligence and green policies in support of entrepreneurship”. The event was attended by experts and representatives of financing and training institutions and 13 youth startups. It was organised by the Technology Transfer Office of the Scientific Research Centre (NIS) at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, the University Centre for Entrepreneurship and Project Management at the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University and innovationstarter.bg. The forum was supported by Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria AD and DSK Bank.
Bozhil Dobrev (Director of NIS), Prof. Dr. Georgi Angelov, (Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth), Academician Nikolay Vitanov (Deputy Rector for Research and Scientific Project Activities at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”) made offcial addresses during the event opening. The main highlights were related to artificial intelligence and whether it was a driver or obstacle to entrepreneurship and the challenges to entrepreneurs. The event culminated with announcing the winners of the competition “Young Entrepreneur in Science”, organised by Sofia University.
During the forum, in her report “Centre of Information Society Technologies”, Albena Antonova presented the EuroCC 2 project and explained what scientific and educational opportunities the HPC research infrastructure presents to scientists, researchers, young people and entrepreneurs:
