More than 150 scientists and experts in the field of large-scale scientific computing from 23 countries participated in the 15th International Conference Large Scale Scientific Computations (LSSC 2025), organized by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (June 16-20, Sozopol, Bulgaria). The LSSC conference is held every two years and is an international scientific forum renowned for presenting new methods, innovative applications and results of large-scale computing applied in the fields of ecology, biomedicine and engineering sciences, new parallel algorithms and analysis of their efficiency, optimized supercomputer applications and high-performance data analysis.

In the special session “HPC and HPDA: Algorithms and Applications” (organized by A. Karaivanova, T. Gurov and E. Atanassov) 9 scientific reports presenting interesting new applications in computational physics, climatology, engineering sciences and coding theory were delivered by participants from Bulgaria, the USA, Serbia and Germany, The session started with a short presentation of the topics and the role of the EuroCC2 project for their development, and five reports were delivered by representatives of the NCC Bulgaria and NCC Serbia. The teams from the two centres have a long history of successful cooperation, and the days of the conference were used to discuss future joint activities.
