National Competence Centre Bulgaria
The EuroCC project series aims to establish a network of National Competence Centres (NCC) in the field of high-performance computing (HPC) in all partner countries. These NCCs coordinate the activities in all HPC-related fields at the national level and serve as a single contact point in their respective countries for users from industry, science, (future) HPC experts and the general public alike. Half of the funding for the EuroCC projects comes from the EU through the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking [JU] and the other half comes from national funding programs within the partner countries.
EuroCC3
The mission of EuroCC 3 is to further strengthen the distributed network of National Competence Centres (NCCs) for High-Performance Computing (HPC), supporting their development and service provision across all participating countries. Building on the achievements of previous phases (EuroCC and EuroCC 2), EuroCC 3 focuses on consolidating and continuously improving the network’s activities while broadening the uptake of HPC across Europe. The project unites 36 NCCs, each mandated by its national authority to serve as a one-stop shop for HPC-related expertise, services, and training. With a strong focus on SMEs and industry, the NCCs will support the adoption of HPC through tailored consulting, skills development, and facilitation of access to national and European resources.

NCC Bulgaria
The NCC Bulgaria is established in the EuroCC series of projects and operates as a consortium consisting of:
- Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (leading organization),
- Sofia University
- University for National and World Economy.
Partner institutions are the major providers of HPC resources in Bulgaria and they have a long-term collaboration experience. Each partner has strong positioning within specific sub-domains, and each partner has important leadership position in large national efforts, related to HPC, bringing on-board contacts from industry and academia.
The tasks of the NCC Bulgaria include:
- Providing an HPC training in Bulgaria and overview of HPC training courses offered by the competence centres of other countries
- Developing and publishing a map of HPC competencies in Bulgaria
- Providing consultations for industry, public administration and academia with suitable knowledge and relevant experience
- Promoting the industrial use of HPC
