Training in High Performance Computing and Cybersecurity Applications, Sofia, 15 December 2025

In mid-December, the International Workshop on High-Performance Computing (HPC) for Cybersecurity and a Roundtable on “Information Resilience, Safety and Security in the Modern Digital Society” was held in the Ceremonial Hall of the Central Military Club in Sofia, organized by the Joint Simulation and Analysis Training Center – JTSAC and IICT-BAS in partnership with the EuroCC2 projects, the Atlantic Reserve Officers Association, and with the support of the CoC partners Digitalization of the Economy in a Big Data Environment.

The event brought together leading national and international researchers, computer science and security experts, and industry representatives, who discussed new ideas and approaches in the field of security in the era of artificial intelligence and powerful supercomputers.

The team of the National Competence Center, established under the EuroCC2 project, co-organizer of the conference, also organized introductory training in high-performance computing and cybersecurity applications, aimed at industrial users and cybersecurity experts within the framework of the event. The training included 5 modules and demonstrations. Prof. Emanuil Atanasov presents high-performance systems and applications for parallel computing with cybersecurity applications, while Assistant Professor Svetlozar Yordanov introduces MPI and GPU programming with CUDA.

The conference also discussed the prospects for academy-business cooperation using high-performance computing in the field of security.
