Webinar: Exploring the Potential of Hybrid Quantum Computing for Business
October 30 @ 16:30 - 17:00

30 October 2026 | 16:30–17:00 EET (Bulgarian time) | Online via Zoom
The National Competence Centre Bulgaria (NCC Bulgaria), part of the European EuroCC3 network, invites you to the first webinar in a series exploring the potential of hybrid quantum computing for business. The session will provide an accessible introduction to how combining quantum and classical computing technologies could help address complex practical challenges across different industries.
What will you learn?
The webinar will explore potential applications of hybrid quantum computing in several key areas:
- Finance – risk analysis and investment portfolio optimisation.
- Logistics and supply chains – route optimisation and transport planning.
- Chemistry and materials science – molecular and catalyst research, battery development, and drug discovery.
Participants will be introduced to the basic principle of hybrid quantum computing, in which quantum processing units (QPUs) work alongside classical computing resources, including CPUs, GPUs and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters. The session will also highlight NESTUM, a classical computing infrastructure located in the HPC laboratory at Sofia Tech Park.
By combining different computing architectures, hybrid approaches are being explored as a way to tackle selected complex optimisation and scientific problems. The webinar will help participants gain an initial understanding of these technologies, their potential capabilities and their possible relevance to business applications.
Who should attend?
The webinar is intended for business representatives, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), who want to learn more about quantum technologies and explore opportunities for their practical application. No prior specialised knowledge of quantum computing is required.
Registration
Zoom joining details will be displayed after you submit the registration form. Please save this information so that you can access the webinar on the day of the event.
The NCC Bulgaria training team is based at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and works with European partners to promote the adoption of high-performance and quantum computing in Bulgarian businesses.
